Ready to go

This post will be shorter than usual as we are off to Winter Wonderland soon.

We are almost all ready to go, just some last minute grooming and a bit of tidying, probably clean out the fridge too.

I've spent the weekend deep cleaning and making small, but significant, changes to how the house is organised. This will make things much easier going forwards. I flew through the work at a rate of knots and my knuckles are raw and oozing, but it's worth the effort.

Even though I've been wearing myself out during the day, sleep is still an inattentive mistress. Sometimes she visits, sometimes she doesn't. Women, eh?

I have been having daily online chats with an old friend, which I hope they find a little comfort in as well. They are nothing special. We just take it in turns to check in and ask how each other's day has gone. Simple exchanges for which I am thankful.

The ex is due to pick her stuff up while we are gone. All of it I hope. She will also make sure the cat is okay and hasn't destroyed my home.

Doggo has been to the salon and is ready for her first holiday too. I won't put her in a kennel so found her a boarder with a house and another dog for a couple of days. She will love it!

Anyway, that's about it for now. I've got more work to do...
