Walking in a Winter Wonderland....

I'm glad to report we all had a decent time at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.
There were a few hairy moments. One rollercoaster we had booked on broke down and I'm still waiting on a refund. Luckily, the boys were in the queue and not one of the unfortunates stuck halfway up.

The youngest got in a sulk as he couldn't win a giant Pikachu, a sulk that quickly disappeared when his Auntie bought him a fidget spinner.
I had some tense exchanges with the ex over messages as she was organising removing her stuff and we went off track and got a bit personal.
I didn't get to brave Santa's Train as I was on the phone sorting an issue with the hotel booking.
By the time we got to the Haunted Mansion the queue was too long to wait twice, as one of us always had to wait with the bags, so I missed out there too.

Aside from those minor niggles everything went swimmingly.
We played games, ate food, explored the Christmas market, the kids went on a few rides. The eldest two and their Auntie braved another rollercoaster while I braved guarding the bags with a pint in my hand.

We finished off on the Giant Wheel which gave some great views of the whole park. My youngest was worried about going on it to start with but we managed to coax him on and he ended up enjoying it too.

After that we walked back to hotel, ordered pizza, settled the boys, and my sister-in-law and I hit the hotel bar until closing.
The next day we walked back to the train station through Hyde Park, which always turns out to be bigger than I remember.

Now that's all over with and we are headed home, I've only got the small matter of Christmas to sort out!
